This photo’s meta data indicate it was taken at 11:45 on Friday, 22 January 2010. It’s a picture taken with my phone’s camera in the mirror at A Wok, a favorite Chinese dine-and-dash of mine in Fairlawn, Ohio. I particularly enjoy going there on Mondays and Friday because that’s when their delectable General Tso’s Chicken is the lunch special.
It got me through winter. There’s something every year that keeps my grip tight on the thread by which I remain attached to reality and sanity while the weather’s shitty and my outlook on almost everything is bleak.
This year, it was chicken.
Another thing that gets me through hard times is my phone’s camera. I regularly mock cell phone photography because most people who use it have better cameras close at hand. I count myself among this group, though in some extraordinary circumstances, I’m left to fend without it.
Like right now, while it’s in Chava’s apartment, waiting for him to ship it to me…

UPDATE: I am the one in the dark jacket and khakis, not the one in the white coat who looks like D.W. from Arthur.
