We’ve Moved (Here)
To Blogger and the readers of the old, blue colinmorris.net:
I’ve put a fair amount of time into customizing this blog (old one), fine-tuning it to meet my creative vision as it has evolved over the last three years. The thing is, I have no creative vision, and there’s something better out there: Tumblr.
Blogger, I’ve defended you. I’m about as loyal a Google advocate as they come, and I’ve resisted the sexy temptations of Wordpress for ages. I’ve argued your grown up advantages over LiveJournal’s adolescent Myspaciness. But if web 2.0 is defined by the adaptation of online self-publishing tools to users with no technical know-how to speak of, Tumblr has made blogging a sport for infants. This move is dictated by practicality.
I can post anything -anything- to Tumblr in a snap without even having to put down my peanut butter-banana-Nutella sandwich. And the site’s super simple design and giant icons remind me of those telephones made for senior citizens, which I’ve always been fond of for some reason.
It’s been nice working with you, Blogger. We’ll have to… hang out soon? Yeah, totally. Let’s do something… Facebook me.
